Base Station Overview

   Press on the base station to page your handset. It will ring for approximately 60 seconds.
   Press and hold on the base station for about five seconds, the base station is entered into registration mode and allows handset registration.

Display Icons and Symbols

The LCD display gives you information on the current status of the telephone.

	Steadily on when the handset is in range of the base. Flash when out of range of the base or not registered to the base.
	Steadily on when an intercom is in progress. Flash when there is an incoming internal call.
	Indicate a call is in progress.
	Versatis F250 Voice only Indicate that handsfree is being used.
	Indicate when the telephone answering machine (TAM) is turned on. Flash when new TAM messages are received.
	Steadily on when an alarm is set. Flash when the alarm time set before reaches.
	Indicate that the keypad is locked.
	Indicate when there are received new Voice Message Waiting (VMWI) not yet read. Disappear when all the voice messages have been read. (Network service dependent)
	Indicate that the ringer is switched off.
	Indicate when the battery is fully charged. Whole icon flashes when the battery performs initial charging. Internal block icon flashes when the battery is in final charging stage.
	Indicate when the battery needs charging. Flash when low battery power level is detected.
	Indicate when more characters are existed before the text currently displayed.
	Indicate when more characters are existed after the text currently displayed.
	Indicate when new TAM message/new call. Turn off when new TAM message/new call has been read.

PRECAUTIONS

The signal quality will depend on the location and environment of the base and handset.
Position your Versatis F200 Voice/Versatis F250 Voice away from sources of excessive heat (radiators, direct sunlight, etc.) and protect it from vibrations and dust. Never allow your telephone to come into contact with water or other liquids, or with aerosols. To reduce the risk of interference and optimise reception, take particular care not to install the base in the immediate vicinity of windows, large metal objects, reinforced concrete, televisions, music centres, VCR or DVD players, halogen lamps or heating devices, fluorescent lighting, burglar alarms, microwave ovens, computers, etc.
This telephone requires an electrical power supply in order to function. To clean your Versatis F200 Voice/Versatis F250 Voice, use an antistatic cloth lightly moistened with water.
NB: Your Versatis F200 Voice/Versatis F250 Voice is a DECT™* standard appliance designed to receive and transmit telephone calls. It is designed for connection to the public telecommunications network.

INSTALLING YOUR PHONE

Installing and Charging the Batteries

1. Slide down to open the battery compartment cover.
2. Place the 2 supplied AAA rechargeable batteries as indicated. Pay extra attention to direction of polarity.
3. Slide the battery compartment cover back.
4. Put the handset on the base and charge for 15 hours before using the handset for the first time. The handset will give a beep when it is properly placed on the base or charger.

Notes:

1. Use only the supplied NiMH rechargeable batteries.
2. If the handset will not be used for a long time, disconnect and remove the batteries to prevent possible leakage.
   

Connecting the Base Station

1. Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the telephone jack on base bottom.
2. Plug the small end of power adapter into a power jack on base bottom.
3. Connect the power supply plug to the base jack horizontally, and route the power supply cord through the slot.
4. Plug the large end of power adapter into a wall power outlet.
5. Plug the other end of the telephone line cord in to the telephone jack or micro-filter.
6. Always use the cables provided in the box.
   
   If you have broadband service, a micro-filter (not included) is required.

Connecting the Charger(s)

for Duo/Trio models
Plug the power adapter into mains socket.

If you have a Broadband line
If you connect your telephone to a line with a broadband connection, you will need to insert a micro-filter between the telephone and the telephone line, otherwise you may get interference between the telephone and the broadband, which could cause problems.
In a home with broadband, every telephone must have a micro-filter connected, not just the one at the telephone point that your modem is connected to. If you need more broadband micro-filters, contact your broadband supplier.

USING YOUR PHONE

Make a Call

Preparatory Dialing

Enter the phone number and press or (Versatis F250 Voice Only) to dial the number. Press to clear the entry.

Direct Dialing

Press or (Versatis F250 Voice Only) to take the line and enter the phone number.

Dial from Direct Memory Keys

In idle or off hook mode, press and hold / / to dial the direct memory number. You have to store number to the related key first. See section 7.4 for reference.

Call from the Redial List

Press (Versatis F200 Voice Only) or (Versatis F250 Voice Only) to access the redial list and press / to select the desired redial number. Press or (Versatis F250 Voice Only) to dial out to the selected redial number.

Handset Speakerphone

Versatis F250 Voice Only
During a call, you can press to alternate between handsfree and normal handset use.

PRIVATE PHONEBOOK

Your phone can store up to 50 private phonebook entries with names and numbers. Each phonebook entry can have a maximum of 20 digits for the phone number and 12 characters for the name. You can also select different ringtones for your phonebook entries. Phonebook entries are stored alphabetically by name.

Add a New Phonebook Entry

In idle:

1. Press to access the phonebook.
   OR
   Press and / to select PHONEBOOK main menu item and then press to access the phonebook.
2. Press to select ADD.
3. Press to enter the name.
4. Press to enter the number.
5. Press and / to select the desired ringtone for your phonebook entry.
6. Press to store the phonebook entry.

Call from the Phonebook

In idle:

1. Press P to access the phonebook.
   OR
   Press M and -/+ to select PHONEBOOK main menu item and then press M to access the phonebook.
2. Press T or S (Versatis F250 Voice Only) to dial out to the selected phonebook entry.

CALLER DISPLAY (NETWORK DEPENDENT)

This feature is available if you have subscribed the Caller Line Identification service with your telephone service provider. Your phone can store up to 20 received calls with date/time information in the Call List. The number will be shown on the LCD when the phone is ringing. If the number matches with one of the entries in your Private Phonebook, the caller's name stored in the private phonebook will be displayed alternatively with the number. The handset will ring with the melody associated with that phonebook entry.

If the caller number is disabled to send caller information, "WITHHELD" will display.
If the caller number is not provided, "OUT OF AREA" will display.
In standby, if three unanswered calls are received, "3 NEW CALLS" will be displayed.

View the Call List

All received calls are saved in Call List with the latest call putting at the top of the list. When the call list is full, the oldest call will be replaced by a new call. The unanswered call which has not been read is marked with a s at the centre of the bottom line of the display.

PHONE SETTINGS

Set the Ringer Melody for Internal/External Calls

1. Press and / to select HS SETTINGS.
2. Press and / to select RING SETUP.
3. Press and / to select INT RING or EXT RING.
4. Press and / to select the desired ringer melody from the melody list.

Note: The respective ringer melody will be played while browsing the melody list.

5. Press to confirm.

Set the Ringer Volume

1. Press and / to select HS SETTINGS.
2. Press and / to select RING SETUP.
3. Press and / to select RING VOLUME.
4. Press and / to select the desired ringer volume (a total of 6 ringer volume levels including VOLUME OFF).

Note: The respective ringer volume will be played during your selection. If VOLUME OFF is selected, n icon will display.

5. Press to confirm.

Adjust Earpiece and Handsfree Volume

Versatis F250 Voice Only
There are 5 levels (VOLUME 1 to VOLUME 5) to choose from for each of earpiece and handsfree (Versatis F250 Voice Only) volume.

During a call:
Press / to select volume 1-5. The current setting is shown. When you end the call, the setting will remain at the last selected level.

Store Direct Memory Access Number

You can store three direct access numbers into digit KEY 1, KEY 2 and KEY 3, which will be convenient for you to dial to these numbers directly.

1. Press and / to select HS SETTINGS.
2. Press and / to select DIRECT MEM.
3. Press and / to select any one from KEY 1, KEY 2 and KEY 3.
4. Press and then enter the number you would like to store, or edit the number existed before.
5. Press to confirm.

Note: Press and hold , or to call the stored number.

ANSWERING MACHINE

Your phone includes a telephone answering machine that records unanswered calls when it is on. The message counter on the base will show the number of the messages when the answering machine is on.
The answering machine can store up to 59 messages within the maximum recording time of approximately 18 minutes. As well as recording incoming messages, you can record memos for other users of your phone. If the answering machine memory is full, the Handset will display TAM FULL and the handset name alternatively in standby, or display TAM FULL and the date/time information in standby.

Turn On/Off the Answering Machine

You can turn on or off the answering machine through the base or handset.
When the answering machine is set to ON, calls will be answered after the set answer delay and the caller can then leave you a message. When the answering machine is set to OFF, calls will be answered after 10 rings and the answer only message will be played to your callers. They will not be able to leave you a message.

Through the Base

1. Press on the base station.

• If answering machine is set to ON, displays on the handset LCD and the 7-seg LED on the base station will display the number of incoming messages.
• If answering machine is set to OFF, will disappear from the handset LCD and the 7-seg LED on the base station will display - -.

Through the Handset

1. Press and / to select ANS. MACHINE.
2. Press and / to select TAM ON/OFF.
3. Press and / to select ON or OFF.
4. Press to confirm.

• If answering machine is set to ON, displays on the handset LCD and the 7-seg LED on the base station will display the number of incoming messages.
• If answering machine is set to OFF, will disappear from the handset LCD and the 7-seg LED on the base station will display - -.

Listen to the Messages in the Answering Machine

When new messages are recorded on the answering machine, z flashes on the handset display and the message counter on base flashes with the number of new messages in the answering machine until all the new messages are played. Old messages will be played after all new messages are played completely.

Listen new messages through the Base

1. Press on the base station.
2. The new messages are played from the loudspeaker on the base station in the sequence they are recorded.
3. Press or on the base station to increase or decrease the volume during message playback respectively.

Listen new messages through the Handset

1. Press and / to select ANS. MACHINE.
2. Press and / to select MSG PLAYBACK.
3. Press to start message playback and the screen displays the date and time information of the message received.
4. During message playback, press -/+ to increase or decrease the message playback volume respectively.
5. Press to select STOP, FORWARD, PREVIOUS, DELETE to perform the following functions during message playback.
   STOP: Stop the current message playback and return to the ANS. MACHINE menu.
   FORWARD: Skip to play the next message. The date and time information of the next message will display if there is next message.
   PREVIOUS: Skip to repeat playing the current message from the beginning. The date and time information of the current message will display.
   DELETE: Delete the current message and the next message will be played.

Note: Alternatively, you can use the following shortcut keys to control different operation during message playback.

• Press to stop message playback.
• Press to skip to repeat playing the current message from the beginning. Press twice to skip backward to the previous message.
• Press to skip to play next message.
• Press to delete the current message playback.

6. Press to confirm.

Delete All Messages in the Answering Machine

Delete all messages through the Base

In idle:

1. Press and hold on the base station.
2. All the old messages will be deleted.

Delete all messages through the Handset

1. Press and / to select ANS. MACHINE.
2. Press and / to select DELETE ALL.
3. Press to confirm.
4. Press to delete all old messages.

Record Memo

You can record your memo message for another user.

1. Press and / to select ANS. MACHINE.
2. Press and / to select MEMO.
3. Press to start memo recording and "RECORDING" is displayed.
4. Press to stop memo recording and save the memo.
   OR
   Press to stop memo recording without saving and return back to ANS. MACHINE menu.

Answering Machine Settings

You can use the TAM SETTINGS menu through the handset to change the settings of your answering machine.

Set the Answer Mode

By default, the answer machine is set in ANS & REC mode which allows callers to leave a message. This mode can be changed to ANSWER ONLY which does not allow callers to leave a message. In that case, your callers will be prompted to call back later.

1. Press and / to select ANS. MACHINE.
2. Press and / to select TAM SETTINGS.
3. Press and / to select ANSWER MODE.
4. Press and / to select ANS & REC or ANSWER ONLY.
5. Press to confirm.

Set the Outgoing Message Language

The answering machine announces the outgoing message when it answers a call. There is a pre-set OGM for each of ANS & REC mode or ANSWER ONLY mode. You are able to select your desired OGM language to playback.

1. Press and / to select ANS. MACHINE.
2. Press and / to select TAM SETTINGS.
3. Press and / to select TAM LANGUAGE.
4. Press and / to select your desired OGM language.
5. Press to confirm.

Record Your Own Outgoing Message (OGM)

You can record your own OGM for ANS & REC mode or ANSWER ONLY mode. When you record your own OGM, it will be used when the answering machine answers the call. If your personalized OGM is deleted, the pre-set OGM will be restored automatically.

1. Press and / to select ANS. MACHINE.
2. Press and / to select TAM SETTINGS.
3. Press and / to select OGM SETTINGS.
4. Press and / to select ANS & REC or ANSWER ONLY.
5. Press and / to select RECORD MESS.
6. Press to start recording your personalized OGM and "RECORDING" is displayed on the screen.
7. Press to stop and save your personalized OGM. The newly saved OGM will playback automatically. Alternatively, press to return to previous screen without saving the personalized OGM.

Playback and Delete the Outgoing Message (OGM)

You can playback your own personalized OGM or the pre-set OGM for ANS & REC mode or ANSWER ONLY mode and choose to delete your personalized OGM during playback and record a new one whenever you want. Please note that pre-set OGM cannot be deleted.

Playback the OGM

1. Press and / to select ANS. MACHINE.
2. Press and / to select TAM SETTINGS.
3. Press and / to select OGM SETTINGS.
4. Press and / to select ANS & REC or ANSWER ONLY.
5. Press and / to select PLAYBACK.
6. Press to playback your personalized OGM (if you have recorded a personalized OGM before) and "PLAYING OGM" is displayed on the screen.
7. Press to stop the OGM playback and return to the previous menu.

Note: If a personalized OGM is not recorded before, the pre-set OGM will be played.

Delete the personalized OGM

1. Repeat Steps 1 to 6 in Section 8.5.4.1.
2. Press to delete your personalized OGM and return to previous menu and the pre-set OGM is restored automatically.

Note: If pre-set OGM is playing, you are not allowed to delete the pre-set OGM and thus C will not display. Only will display.

Set the Answer Delay

You can set the number of rings before the answering machine answers and starts playing your OGM. You can set the answering machine to answer after two to eight rings or TIME SAVER.

1. Press and / to select ANS. MACHINE.
2. Press and / to select TAM SETTINGS.
3. Press and / to select ANSWER DELAY (Available options: 2 RINGS, 4 RINGS, 6 RINGS, 8 RINGS or TIME SAVER).
4. Press and / to select your desired answer delay.
5. Press to confirm.

REGISTRATION

Your handset and base station is pre-registered. Up to five handsets can be registered to a single base station.

If for some reason, the handset is not registered to the base station (h flashes even when the handset is near the base station), register your handset according to the following procedure.

1. Press and hold on the base station for about five seconds, the base station is entered into registration mode.
2. Press and / to select REGISTRATION.
3. Press and you are requested to enter the 4-digit system PIN (default PIN is 0000).
4. Enter the 4-digit system PIN
5. Press to confirm.

If the handset registration is successful, you will hear a confirmation tone and the will stop flashing. The handset will automatically be allocated the next available handset number. This handset number is shown in the handset display in standby mode. If the handset registration is unsuccessful, the will still flash.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If you have difficulty with your phone, please try the suggestions listed below.

As a general rule, if a problem occurs, remove the batteries from all the handsets in your installation for about 1 minute, then disconnect and reconnect the power supply to the base and reinstall the handset batteries.

Problem	Cause	Solutions
No dialing tone when pressing key	The connection cord of the base station is not plugged in. The adaptor cord is not plugged in correctly in the base station. The line is busy, as another handset is used. Wrong connection cord.	Check the connections. Unplug and plug back in the mains. Check that the telephone line cord has been plugged into the base station and the phone socket. Check the base station plug and the 220V plug (remove and plug-in). Wait until the line is unoccupied. Use the original connection cord.

Answering Machine

I cannot operate the answering machine remotely.	You are entering the wrong remote access code. You are pressing the dial keys too quickly. The answering machine is turned off. You are using a pulse telephone.	If you forget the remote access code, reset to the default settings. Press each key firmly. Turn on the answering machine. Try again using a touch tone phone.
While recording an outgoing message or listening to messages, the unit rings and recording stops.	A call is being received.	Answer the incoming call and try again to record your outgoing message later.

In the event of an electrical hazard, the mains adaptor acts as 230V power isolating device. It should therefore, as a precaution, be installed close to the appliance and be easily accessible. To disconnect the device from the primary power source, the mains adaptor must be removed from the 230V AC/50 Hz socket.

If the mains adaptor fails, it must be replaced by an identical model.

If not connected to the mains power or if there is a mains power failure, telephones that use cordless handsets will not work.

You will then be unable to make or receive calls in the event of an emergency.

This is why we recommend that you also keep a conventional telephone – one that doesn't require a power supply – as a backup.

Do not attempt to open the batteries, as they contain chemical substances. In the event of leakage, avoid contact with the skin, eyes, nose and mouth. In the event of contact, rinse the affected part for about twenty minutes with running water and seek urgent medical attention. Clean the product with absorbent paper or a dry cloth and contact your reseller for replacement batteries.
